The BIS focuses on in-depth analysis and research to achieve the goal of developing and diversifying product lines in alignment with the new business strategy—Business Center to Commercial Center. Key initiatives include:

This ensures the development of products that revolve around the value chain of sugarcane, coconut, rice, banana and other key agricultural crops, which are GMA’s primary focus.

Next-Generation Sugar: Introducing "Half Sugar," a blend of Stevia and Cane Sugar that offers twice the sweetness of refined sugar with the same taste profile.
Liquid Cane Sugar: A new product line tailored for the dispensing and consumer channels.
Sugarcane Beverages: Expanding our sugarcane beverage portfolio by developing carbonated sugarcane juice products, marking a breakthrough in GMA’s sugarcane beverage offerings.
Coconut-based Food & Beverages: Creating a wide range of high-quality coconut-based products that meet international standards, leveraging advanced technology while preserving natural nutrition and freshness.
Rice-based Food & Beverages: Developing innovative products derived from rice that cater to health-conscious consumers, focusing on sustainability and quality.
Banana-based Products: Exploring new banana-based food and beverage products, emphasizing natural nutrition and the versatility of banana as an ingredient.
Advanced Research and Innovation
Technology transfer and co-operation: We collaborate with universities and research institutes to enhance our BIS department's research capacities. R&D also leads pioneering research initiatives through partnerships with both local and international universities and research institutions, enhancing our research capabilities.
Key projects include the development of bio-based products such as protein from molasses, bio-plastics from bagasse and coconut fiber, sustainable aviation fuel, and biochar. By staying at the forefront of technological trends and working together to create sample product formulas, we ensure that our innovations drive industry advancements, maintain our competitive edge, and contribute to the promotion of sustainable value chains while improving customer experiences.
